Module 4

Module 4
1.        At my workplace, we are required to do CBT’s Computer Based Training. Working in a busy ER I seem to learn something new every day. I also take many courses in advanced nursing such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and three years ago, I became a BLS and ACLS instructor. I recently joined ENA, we get magazines with our memberships that have some very good educational articles. ENA also has many educational conferences.
2.       I do not think any nursing areas do not involve some sort of education. It starts out with student education in the classroom, then clinical both in the practical as well as virtual world. As nurses we should mentor our young and student nurses, because they are the ones who will be taking care of us in the future.

Module 3

While retrieving my information on stroke and cholesterol I found CINAHL and Pub Med the most helpful. Like anything on the Web, there is a lot of information. With both CINAHL and Pub Med these are reliable sources of information and the search can be tailored to what is wanted. When I first started my search I just put in Stroke, this gave me over 13 thousand matches. As I added cholesterol, this made the search narrower. I use Endnote for all my searches that I would like to use in the future.
